CRASH!
APOLOGY!
Mr. Kaech's computer crashed. The hard drive died and vanished. The computer doctors have given up hope and handed us the hardware on a platter. The backup Ememo mailing list is from late February or so. If you asked to be removed from the emailing list and are now getting it again (or multiple times), I apologize. Please email kaech@verizon.net and ask to be removed again. If you asked to join the mailing list recently, you may not be on it (and you're not reading this!) If you know a player or parent who discovered scholastic chess recently and/or might like to get the Chess Ememo, do forward this Ememo to them. Thanks! By the way... what edition number would this Ememo be?

ATTENTION TEACHERS:
ADD CHESS TO YOUR TOOLBOX
There once was a little group of educator chessplayers in Seattle, who observed that chess benefits kids in several ways, i.e. by teaching thinking skills. So they started the Seattle Chess Foundation, and it grew rapidly, so they changed the name to America's Foundation for Chess. Their 'First Move' program is now taught in school classrooms in 26 states, and Idaho has become the first state to offer a state-wide chess curriculum, using their program. Check it out, and consider employing it in your school or school district.
